Website and SSL monitoring, on request

CertPing can check your websites once an hour, record whether they answer and how fast, read their SSL/TLS certificates, and email you when a site goes down or a certificate is close to expiry. It is not part of the self-serve plans. Our team turns it on for your workspace when you ask.

What it checks

  • Hourly checks

Each website is checked once an hour over HTTPS, or on a TCP port you name, from CertPing's servers.

  • Certificate details

Issuer, subject, validity dates, days left, TLS version, cipher strength and whether the certificate is self-signed.

  • Availability history

Daily uptime and response time for each site, plus a summary of sites with uptime or certificate issues.

When it emails you

  • A site is down after three failed checks in a row.
  • A site is back online at the first successful check after that.
  • A certificate expires within 30 days, sent at most once a day.
  • A certificate has expired.

What it does not do

  • Checks run once an hour, so a short outage between checks can go unseen.
  • Checks come from CertPing's servers, not from several locations around the world.
  • Alerts go by email to the admins of your workspace.
  • It watches availability and certificates. It does not measure page performance in visitors' browsers.

Website monitoring questions

01Why is website monitoring on request?

We focus the self-serve product on domains, SSL certificates, email security and phishing detection. Monitoring works and we run it for customers who ask, but it is switched on per workspace by our team.

02How do I get website monitoring?

Send us a message with the websites you want watched. We confirm the price and turn monitoring on for your workspace, and you add and pause sites from your dashboard.

03Does it renew my SSL certificates?

No. Monitoring reads the certificate a site serves and warns you before it expires. Issuing and renewing certificates is part of SSL certificates in CertPing.
