Domains and transfers

Register, renew and move a domain.

Domain registration guide
How do I register a domain name?

Search for the name you want, choose an available ending such as .com, .io or .ai, and register it. CertPing shows the first-year price and the renewal price before checkout, and WHOIS privacy, DNS and transfer lock are included.

What does it cost to renew a domain?

Every search shows the CertPing renewal price next to the first-year price. Auto-renew charges the renewal price at that time, and you get reminders before each renewal date.

Is WHOIS privacy included?

Yes. WHOIS privacy is included with every domain, so your name, email address and phone number are redacted from public WHOIS and RDAP records.

What is a registrar lock?

A registrar lock, or transfer lock, stops a domain from being transferred to another registrar. At CertPing the lock is on by default, so the domain can't leave your account without your approval.

How do I transfer a domain to CertPing?

Unlock the domain at your current registrar, request the authorization (EPP) code, and start the transfer in CertPing. Most transfers complete in five to seven days. The transfer adds one year to the registration.

What is an EPP code?

An EPP code, also called an authorization or auth code, is a password for a domain that the current registrar issues to its owner. The new registrar needs it to request the transfer.

How long does a domain transfer take?

Most transfers to CertPing complete in five to seven days once the current registrar approves. Timing depends on that registrar.

Will my website or email go down during a transfer?

CertPing copies your DNS records before the move, so the website and email keep resolving while the transfer completes.

DNS and DNSSEC

Records, nameservers and DNSSEC.

Managed DNS guide
Is DNS hosting included with a CertPing domain?

Yes. Managed DNS with DNSSEC is included with every domain you register or transfer to CertPing, along with WHOIS privacy, registrar lock and email forwarding.

Which DNS records can I edit?

You can edit the common records, including A, CNAME, MX and TXT, on the same page as the domain in CertPing.

What is DNSSEC?

DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) adds digital signatures to DNS records so resolvers can check that an answer came from the domain's real DNS and wasn't altered. CertPing DNS hosting includes DNSSEC.

Can I use my own nameservers?

Yes. Use the managed DNS zone with DNSSEC, or delegate the domain to your own nameservers.

SSL certificates

Issuing, renewing and who signs them.

SSL certificates guide
Is the first SSL certificate free?

Yes. Your first CertPing SSL certificate is free. Prices for additional certificates are on the CertPing pricing page.

How does automatic SSL renewal work?

CertPing requests a new certificate before the current one expires, using the same ACME validation as the first issue. The domain keeps serving HTTPS without you renewing by hand.

Who issues CertPing SSL certificates?

Trusted certificate authorities such as Let's Encrypt (ISRG) issue the certificates. CertPing requests them over the ACME protocol and manages renewal. CertPing is not itself a certificate authority.

What are 47-day SSL certificates?

The CA/Browser Forum has voted to shorten the maximum lifetime of public TLS certificates in steps, reaching 47 days in March 2029. Automatic renewal is how CertPing keeps up with that schedule.

Email security

SPF, DKIM and DMARC checks and fixes.

Email security guide
What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC?

SPF lists the servers allowed to send email for your domain, DKIM signs your messages, and DMARC tells receiving servers what to do with mail that fails those checks. CertPing checks all three and gives you the DNS record to add when one is missing or too weak.

How do I stop someone spoofing my email domain?

Publish SPF and DKIM records for every service that sends your mail, then publish a DMARC policy of quarantine or reject. CertPing checks each record and gives you the exact record to add.

Does CertPing enforce DMARC?

No. Receiving mail servers enforce DMARC by following the policy your domain publishes. CertPing checks that the policy exists and is strong enough, and gives you the record to fix it.

Do I need to host my DNS with CertPing?

No. You can add the suggested records at any DNS provider. If your domain uses CertPing managed DNS, you can edit the records on the same page as the check.

Phishing and trademarks

Look-alike alerts and trademark watch.

Anti-phishing guide
How does CertPing anti-phishing work?

CertPing Anti-Phishing checks newly registered domains every day for look-alikes of yours: a typo, a swapped character, a payment word like pay or billing, or the same name on another ending. Each alert shows the domain, why it was flagged and its risk. The first scan is free.

How much does CertPing Anti-Phishing cost?

The first scan is free. Ongoing look-alike alerts cost $1.99 a month per domain.

Does CertPing take down phishing domains?

No. CertPing detects look-alike domains and alerts you. It does not block or take down domains. You decide what to do with each finding.

Can CertPing help me register a trademark?

Yes. Start an application in CertPing with the mark, the owner and your goods or services, and an independent trademark attorney files it. CertPing provides the platform, not legal services.

How much does trademark watch cost?

The first scan is free. Ongoing alerts on new USPTO filings cost $1.99 a month per mark.

Is CertPing a law firm?

No. CertPing provides informational and technical platform services. Trademark filing is handled by an independent attorney under the Attorney-Client Consent.

Account and data

Your data, cancelling and account rules.

Privacy policy
Can I remove my domain's data from CertPing?

Yes. You can request removal of a domain's data by sending an email to support@certping.com and proving domain ownership (e.g., DNS TXT record or authorized email). CertPing will evaluate and respond based on applicable laws and its privacy policy.

What happens to my data if I cancel my account?

Upon cancellation, all data becomes immediately inaccessible and CertPing permanently deletes the data. No data recovery is possible after deletion.

Does CertPing collect personal information?

No personal data is collected beyond email address for account creation, basic usage logs (browser version, OS, access times), and payment information (handled by a third-party processor). All sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and CertPing does not share or sell user data.

Can CertPing terminate my account?

Yes. CertPing may suspend or terminate your account for Terms of Use violations, inactivity exceeding 6 months, or illegal or abusive activity (e.g., scraping, phishing, impersonation).
